WHO WE ARE

Energy Employee Services, LLC

Over 10 years experience navigating U.S. Department of Labor benefits for energy employees across America. Our team at Energy Employee Services is dedicated to assisting eligible energy workers to receive full financial compensation and healthcare benefits they are entitled to under the Federal Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) of 2001

The #1 benefit our clients enjoy is that Energy Employee Services allows family members to become compensated care givers. If your DOL approved conditions create medical necessity for help completing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), then your family member(s) can get compensated for up to 12 hours per day. We work with your physician and the DOL to get you approved for this benefit

Energy Employee Services is an authorized provider under the EEOICPA program and is compensated exclusively by the DOL under the EEOICPA. We will never bill you or your family for any of our services. Please contact us today if you believe you or a family member may be eligible for benefits

What are EEOICPA Benefits?

How does the program work?

The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) provides compensation to current and former workers who have been diagnosed with radiogenic cancer, beryllium disease, or silicosis (under Part B), and any diagnosed illness caused by exposure to a toxic substance (under Part E) while working at a U.S. Department of Energy facility, a Beryllium Vendor, an Atomic Weapons Employer, or at a RECA mine or mill

Under Part B of the EEOICPA, eligible employees of the Department of Energy, its contractors, subcontractors, atomic weapons employers, and beryllium vendors are entitled to receive $150,000 of tax exempt compensation, as well as extensive medical benefits for cancer, beryllium disease, or silicosis resulting from exposure to radiation, beryllium or silica during their employment

Under Part E of the EEOICPA, eligible Department of Energy employees and surviving family members are entitled to receive up to $400,000 of tax exempt compensation, as well as extensive medical benefits for illnesses resulting from exposure to toxic substances, including chemicals, solvents, acids, metals, and radiation

Once approved under the program, EEOICPA beneficiaries are entitled to extensive medical benefits for care and treatment of approved medical conditions

Examples of these medical benefits include:

Doctor’s visits and in-home care (both skilled and non-skilled)

Paid family member caregivers

Diagnostic testing and periodic monitoring

Transportation expenses

Medications

Treatments

Surgeries

Assisted living facilities

Durable medical equipment

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What specific home services does Energy Employee Services provide?

Home health care is tailored to your specific medical needs based on your covered DOL approved medical conditions. The level of care you are entitled to is based upon your medical necessity for home-help as determined by your treating physician

FAQ image

Who pays for home healthcare?

Home healthcare through Energy Employee Services is paid for by the Department of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (managed by Department of Labor’s Workers Compensation Programs)

The EEOICPA medical compensation program is very different from other types of medical insurance in that the coverage allows for a higher level of medical care for covered energy employees. For example, a person who has medical necessity for 24/7 skilled nursing care can receive this level of care indefinitely, provided they continue to have medical necessity

  • The Department of Energy Employee Occupational Illness Compensation Program covers 100% of the cost of care for EEOICPA approved conditions

  • Homebound status is not required to qualify for home care benefits under EEOICPA

FAQ image

Can Energy Employee Services help me get the care I need in my home instead of transitioning to a nursing facility?

Yes, and that is our #1 goal for you. Eligible beneficiaries of the EEOICPA can receive in-home care up to 24-hours/day, 7-days/week, 365-days/year for their covered conditions. We also provide covered care at assisted living facilities so that you are only paying for your assisted living "rent," which lowers your total cost of living at that facility

FAQ image

How much does it cost to receive benefits from Energy Employee Services?

Energy Employee Services is an authorized provider under the EEOICPA program and is compensated directly by the DOL under EEOICPA. We will never bill you or your family for any of our services

FAQ image

How much does it cost to work with an Authorized Representative?

In accordance with the EEOICPA regulations, an Authorized Representative (AR) is permitted to charge for services related to a claim before the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC). ARs work on a contingency basis, meaning they are only compensated if they are successful in getting a claim approved. If a claim is approved on the first submission (i.e. the claim has never been denied), the fee is two percent (2%) of the compensation received. If a claim has been denied and subsequently overturned and approved, the fee is ten percent (10%) of the compensation received. If an AR assists with an impairment rating, the AR is entitled to a fee of two percent (2%) of any additional compensation received as a result of that process
